Hello happy crafters, I was looking at my ever increasing stamp collection and felt that i have not given each stamp a good workout. So I thought of doing this Take 5 series of cards, where I would use one set of stamps to make multiple styles of cards. I will be doing one of this every month, so stay tune.
For this month, I decided to use the Clearly Besotted PUPPY LOVE. It is a rather small set, so I scaled down most of my cards to 3 X 4 inches, unless specified otherwise.
To make all my cards, I first stamped my doggies on a seperate piece of cardstock and coloured and cut them out. I used matting, rectangular frames and even loosely stamped balls to frame all my doggies.
I love the colours in the Hooray card, and the simplicity of the sympathy card.
All in all these cards were easy to make and is ideal for making sets. If you decide to make 5 cards with a set or if this post inspires you to make a card, please share it with me. I would love to see your rendition of it.
Thank you again for spending your time to visit my blog, if you have the time please leave a comment and tell me what you liked about the cards or my blog. I truly appreciate your constructive comments.
Till then, have a lovely day.
Hello hello happy crafters, this card was inspired by a challenge i had on one of my card swap groups. The challenge was to make a card with 3 or more squares. I used an image from Charlie's Stamps. They have many fantastically cute critters, don't forget to check them out by clicking on their name or the image below which will take you to their website.
I began by printing out different sizes of this cozy little owl. I chose the perfect size for my card and coloured it using my Derwent colour pencils. The colour is not as vibrant in the photos but in real life the colours pop a lot more. I chose 3 colours and coloured each owl. I also used the NUVO shimmer pen on the eyes, ear muffs and scarf. I then glossy accented the eyes and their claws.
I used SIMON SAYS STAMP stitched square die to cut out 3 square frames. To interlock the frames, I cut a slit in the frame in a spot which I know will be hidden beneath another. I then used GINA K liquid glue to adhere the owls to each square frame. I varied the owls position to give sense of depth. I prepared a mat from black cardstock an eighth of an inch smaller than my A5 white card base.
To prepare the mat, I used some white gesso and made splatters. I left it to dry completely before adhering the owls and the frame. For the sentiment, I used HERO ARTS white unicorn pigment in for stamping. To customise my sentiment, I wrote "winter" with SAKURA 0.5mm jelly roll pen.
This card has been super fun to make as I got to work with such a cute image from Charlie's Stamps as well as whipping out my colour pencils. I hope you have enjoyed this card.
